Halloween Wreath

Been working on this project for the last week (these little rosettes are time consuming!) & I'm finally finished. I started out working in this to use for Brynn's birthday party & then decided that it can definitely be used every Halloween (as long is it doesn't get smashed!). I'm very pleased with the finished product. :)

Themed Parties Are Awesome!

So today is my cousin Hannah's 12th birthday & it's 50s themed. How fun is that?! Here are my two girls, Brynn & Ciersten in their 50's themed ensembles. Brynn is supposed to be a "tough chick" (kinda like Rizzo in the Pink Ladies from Grease) & Ciersten is supposed to be a sweet studios girl (Like Sandy's character from Grease).

Hand Made & Personalized Gift Set

So my cousin, Hannah Rose will be celebrating her 12th Birthday this coming Sunday. Recently I made a couple of altered notebooks & pens. When my girls took them to church with them, Hannah really, really liked them. So instead if just making her a similar notebook & pen set, I decided to make her an entire "gift set". I decided to include a small altered spiral notebook, altered composition book, altered clipboard, altered pen/pencil box & altered pen. All the altered products were very fun to make, just very time consuming. I started at around 8pm tonight & now it's 1:30am. Being that I'm still working on details for Brynn's party & Hannah's party is this Sunday, I wanted to be sure I had adequate time to finish everything I needed to get done. Here are the finished products I created for Hannah.

Brynn's 11th Birthday Continued

So I've still been working on favors for Brynn's party. Being that she's new to her school this year, I want to be sure that her party is a blast for all who attend. So in this post I've added decorated water bottles for both the kids & adults, treat bags, & "bat droppings".
The treat bags are simple craft bags that I purchased at my local Hobby Lobby ($2.99 for a pack of 12). I embellished the bags using 4 inch rectangles (lime green, orange & dark purple) I cut using my Cricut. After I adhered the rectangles to the bags with my Stampin' Up glue stick, I adhered pre-stamped images to the rectangles. My Pre-stamped images are all part of the Stampin' Up Halloween stamps. The sets I used were: Sweet Centers, Halloween Frights, Graveyard Gala, & House of Haunts.
The treat bags will be empty & used for the kids to gather up one of each treat from the favor table.
The "Bat Droppings" are super easy: long skinny clear Wilton 'pretzel bags' filled with Cocoa Puffs and trimmed at top. I printed out "Bat Droppings" on my computer & hand cut them into small rectangles & then simply taped them over the middle of each bag. This was definitely the easiest favor of all the ones I did. The water bottles were easy, but time consuming. I removed the original labels and used those as a reference when measuring the purple, orange, green & black & white paper I used. I then cut 3 inch circles with my Cricut using orange & green cardstock & 2 inch capital B using dark purple cardstock. Once I replaced all the labels with the colored paper, I adhered the Bs to the circles & the circles to the bottles. Easy, just time consuming.

Brynn's 11th Birthday

So Brynn's birthday is just around the corner (October 29) and I've been working like crazy on the favors for her party. Being that her birthday is only s couple of days away from Halloween, she really enjoys having Halloween themed parties. This year I've actually taken a lot more time in putting the favors together & actually got a pretty good head start. The best part us, after I'm done, the rest will be up to my sister in law, Katherine, owner of Sweet August Events & Punky Parties. I decided that this year instead of burning myself out and trying to do it all myself, we'd hire Sweet August to take care of all the details for me. What a weight off my shoulders! Anyway, here is my contribution to the party:

"Pumpkin Poop" party favors (candy corn) in a clear cellophane bag with a cute poem-
'I started to carve a pumpkin with my carving knife & scoop,
But the pumpkin got so scared that he took a little poop.
It looked so cute & funny, just like a candy treat,
So I'm sharing it with you, because you are so sweet.'

"Ghost Kisses"
Mini marshmallows in clear cellophane bags.

"Ghost Pops"
Blow Pops (or Tootsie Pops) covered in white tissue paper

Halloween Pencils with Halloween Paper Toppers

Another cool DIY that I did was the boxes that I displayed the Ghost Pops & Pencils. I saved cereal boxes & decoupaged Halloween papers onto the boxes. Then I drilled the appropriate size holes in each box & presto! Coordinating display boxes!

"Spider Dust"
Purple Pixie Stick Powder poured into clear plastic test tubes complete with topper & 'Eat Me' tag. (Test Tubes w/toppers purchased for $4.99 for a pack of 25 on Amazon.com)

"Ear Wax Powder"
(Same basic concept ad Spider Dust)
Orange Pixie Stick powder poured into clear plastic test tubes.

I have a couple more things in mind, & I know Katherine does to, so I'll post more when I get it all together. :)

Order's Are Shipping!

So excited! My Thirty-One party orders are shipped and should be here tomorrow! SOOOOO super excited! And I got my shipment of new catalogs so that's awesome also! LOL.
Can't wait till this Sunday when I do a Thirty-One party for my Tia Mona at her house. Hopefully I'll get lots of new customers & lots of new bookings as well!  My day is off to a great start!  :)

Dr. Visits

Ok, so you make an appointment with your Dr. or specialist for a specific time, right? So why is it that after rushing to be ready & rushing the kid(s) to get ready to make it on time is the Dr. NEVER on time? I think the nurses are trained to fake the patients out with calling us to the exam room only to wait another 30 minutes (or more!). What's the point of setting appointment times the way they do if the Dr. can't keep to the schedule? Kinda frustrating...

Birthday Parties Rock!

So tonight we celebrated our cousin Angel's 31 Birthday & it was a blast. Yet another amazing soirée put together by my awesome sister-in-law, Katherine Lopez of Sweet August Events. The theme was her thirty "first" birthday, complete with a huge Piñata & birthday cake shaped into the Number 1. Super cute decor! The most fun was taking polaroid pictures in front of a backdrop created by Katherine complete with special props & chalkboard sayings for each persons picture. Can't wait till the end of the month when Sweet August (Katherine) does my daughter, Brynn's 11th birthday party! :)

I Love Weddings!

Today our friends, Dixon & Miranda exchanged vows at a beautiful location, Spinelli's Boerne Vistro in Boerne, Texas. Miranda looked STUNNING in her wedding gown! My daughter, Brynn said she wanted a dress just like Miranda's when she gets married. I would have to agree that it was one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen. Mrs. Yang looked like a beautiful fairy princess. :)
The food was great, the location was beautiful and Dixon & Miranda couldn't have looked happier.
Gotta hand it to my awesome sister-in-law, Katherine Lopez, owner & founder of Sweet August Events. She did an AMAZING job on our friends, Dixon & Miranda's wedding tonight. Absolutely beautiful to the very last detail. I love weddings...maybe we should renew our vows (again!). We're only 7 years away from our 20th... Hmmmm
;)
